André Miguel de Almeida Marrão Rodrigues completed his Ph.D. in Informatics Engineering in 2013 at the University of Coimbra, Faculty of Sciences and Technology. He earned his Master's in Management in 2004 from ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon and a Bachelor's degree in Informatics Engineering in 1990 from the University of Coimbra, Faculty of Sciences and Technology. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic University of Coimbra in the Coimbra Business School - ISCAC. His work focuses on Engineering and Technologies, with an emphasis on Informatics - Communications and Systems Engineering. He has published numerous articles in international conferences and journals and has received four awards and/or honors. He has participated and/or is currently participating as a Researcher in several projects. He has submitted a patent application in the field of Wireless Sensor Networks and was a founding member of a startup in this area. In his professional activities, he has collaborated with various colleagues as a co-author of scientific papers. He was a member of scientific committees/organization of international conferences and a reviewer for several articles in international journals. In his CV, the most frequent terms in the contextualization of scientific, technological, and artistic-cultural production are: Internet of Things; Cyber-Physical Systems; People-centric solutions; Context awareness. While a member of the Communications and Telematics Laboratory at the Center for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC-LCT), he collaborated in guiding master's and doctoral students in the field of Wireless Sensor Networks and IoT and the application of these technologies to mitigate social problems. Recently he is a researcher at INESC Coimbra and a collaborator with CEOS.PP Coimbra.
