Célia Talma Gonçalves has a PhD in Informatics Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (2013), a MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (1999) and a BSc degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Faculty of Science (1994), University of Porto. She is an Adjunct Professor at Porto Accounting and Business School from Polytechnic of Porto (ISCAP P.Porto) and Senior researcher at CEOS.PP - Centre for Organizational and Social Studies of Polytechnic of Porto and at LIACC - Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science of University of Porto. She is the Director of the Master's in Business Intelligence and Analytics, as well as the Postgraduate Program in Technologies and Information Systems Management at ISCAP. She has teaching experience in the field of Information Systems, Data Warehouses, Business Intelligence and Text Mining/Machine Learning. Her main research areas include Information Retrieval,Artificial Intelligence, Text Mining, Machine Learning, Information Systems and Business Intelligence. She supervised several Master thesis at ISCAP and co-supervised Master thesis at FEUP and is currentely co-supervising a PhD Thesis at FEUP. She makes part of the Program Committee of several International conferences namely WINDS (Women in Data Science) 2019 to 2021, PAPIS Latam 2019 - Real-World Machine Learning Stories, ICOTTS - International Conference on Tourism, Technology and Systems since 2019, and ICITED (International Conference in Information Technology & Education) since 2019. She is the author and co-author of several conference/journal indexed publications. She was chair of the BAAI (Business Application of Artificial Intelligence) Session at EPIA 2017 and EPIA 2019. She is member of the APPIA (the Portuguese AI society).
