Graduated in Humanities and Theological Sciences at the Catholic University of Portugal (1978). Master degree in Knowledge Production and Diffusion in Media Convergence by the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (2002). PhD in Communication, Advertising and Public Relations by the University of Vigo (2004). Currently, he is Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology - Escola Superior de Gestão, where he was Director and President of the Technical-Scientific Council (2013-2016). He is the director of the Digital Communication and Technology degree courses at the ISLA-IPGT School of Technology; and professor of several Curricular Units: Culture and Protocol; Communication techniques; Communication Theories and Models; Communication Law; Information Law; Computer Law and Organizational Management. Prior to teaching, he made a career in the field of media. He was a journalist, editor-in-chief, director and administrator of the newspaper “O Comércio do Porto” (1974-1991); editorial director (1982-2004) and executive director (1989-2004) at Grupo Lusomundo / Controlinveste, owner of “Jornal de Notícias”, “Diário de Notícias” and “TSF”; and the editorial, network and antenna director at RADIOPRESS - Comunicação e Radiodifusão, Lda. Expert in the area of ¿¿Communication Sciences, he has published several works in the fields of Communication Law, Communication and Protocol, Ethics and Deontology of Communication, Culture and Tourism. He is an integrated researcher at the Research Unit CEPESE – Research Centre for the Study of Population, Economy and Society (University of Porto).
