Ana is Coordinator Professor at the Polytechnic University of Portalegre (Portugal), where she has been teaching curricular units in the areas of taxation and financial accounting in undergraduate and master's degrees, since 2002. Ana was also a Guest Professor at the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration in Coimbra (Portugal) and at the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration in Porto (Portugal), to teach in masters and postgraduate courses. Ana is currently Director of the Master's Course in Accounting and Finance, member of the Scientific Council of the School of Technology, Management and Design and member of the General Council of Portalegre Polytechnic University (Portugal). Ana is a Certified Accountant since 1995 and a trainer of the Order of Certified Accountants. Ana holds a Master's degree in Management from Universidade Lusíada (Lisbon - Portugal) and a PhD in Accounting from the University of Minho (Braga - Portugal). Ana develops her research activity as a researcher at VALORIZA - Research Center for the Enhancement of Endogenous Resources. She regularly participates in scientific events, as a member of the scientific committee, with oral presentation of communications and as discussant and moderator. In addition, Ana participates in the blind review process of several journals and scientific events in the areas of accounting and taxation and is member of several Editorial Boards and Board of reviewers. Ana develops research in the areas of taxation and accounting, namely in the development of the accounting profession, seeking to promote the transfer of knowledge to society, from which her research on the accounting profession and the contributions of accountants to society stands out, as well as in the area of taxation, mostly in environmental taxation and tax law complexity. In ongoing research, she seeks to respond to the problem of the role of the accountants and accounting in the digital age.
