Catarina holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Vigo (Spain), whose research work was awarded the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize. It was funded by a PhD grant from the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (Portugal). She has a BSc in Mathematics and a MSc in Engineering Mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal. Since 2002, she has been working as a Mathematics teacher at secondary school and university level. Her main research interests are related to Differential Calculus, Statistics, Modelling, Teaching Education, Digital Literacy. She has collaborated in international research projects, in supervision and as a member of juries of PhD and MSc theses in different countries since 2016. By invitation, she has worked as a member of scientific committees in international conferences, courses, chairing working sessions and as a reviewer in scientific journals. She worked as research statistician in the DOCnet project of the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, in the Epidemiology Research Unit. Now, she is coordinator of the Mathematics Department of ISPGAYA and a researcher at INSIGHT.
