Célia Tavares is an Assistant Professor (Professora Auxiliar) of Languages and Translation at the Faculty of Business of the Technical University Porto, formerly known as ISCAP. She holds a PhD in Translation and Paratranslation from the University of Vigo and the title of Specialist in Languages and Cultures – Foreign Languages and Literatures from ISCAP. She also holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia in Education from the University of Aveiro, a Master’s degree in Translation and Paratranslation from the University of Vigo, and a five-year degree in Specialised Translation and Interpreting from ISCAP. She is Director of the Postgraduate Programme in Language Services and a member of the board at CIP - Centre for Pedagogical Innovation (Centro de Inovação Pedagógica) at the Technical University Porto. She serves on the editorial board of POLISSEMA – Revista de Letras do ISCAP, an annual academic journal; PRATICA – Journal of Multimedia Research in Pedagogical Innovation and e-Learning Practices; the International Journal of English Language and Literature Studies (Q1); and the Journal of Education and e-Learning Research (Q3). She also serves on the scientific committees of other journals and reviews manuscripts for several international publications. Célia Tavares has been a researcher at CEOS.PP since 2017. Her research interests include translation management systems, neural machine translation, the use of large language models in translation, technical translation, and English for Specific Purposes.
