Adalberto Fernandes (PhD in Philosophy, MA in Communication, MA in Bio-Ethics, BA in Communication) is a (tenure-track) researcher at the Centre for Organisational and Social Studies (CEOS.PP), and Professor at the Technical University of Porto, Portugal. He teaches Communication Theory and Technical Communication. He is the coordinator of the research group "Digital Humanities" at CEOS.PP. Research collaborator in the European Research Council (ERC) funded project fAIces - Facial Recognition Technologies. Researcher at the FCT-funded project: CEMA - Censorship(s):an analytic model of censorial processes. He held research positions at NOVA University of Lisbon and Algarve University. He has authored more than 50 articles and chapters on: communication and media theory, science/health/environmental communication, political communication, journalism, censorship, ethics, artificial intelligence, platforms, memes, critical discourse analysis, visual analysis, philosophy, and Michel Foucault.
